Wolverhampton Wanderers may have had a phenomenal 2018/19 campaign, however, Fosun could be about to make things even better for the club in the summer.
The question ‘how?’ might come to mind and the answer would simply be by adding Salomon Rondon to the side.
According to a recent report by The Express & Star, the Venezuela international is interested in teaming up with the Molineux outfit with Wolves allegedly happy to meet the £16million release clause in his West Bromwich Albion contract.
And, should he arrive in the summer, he could be the ideal strike partner for Raul Jimenez next season.
The South American is an extremely strong and physical forward and someone that the Mexico international could look to thrive from if he were in the team.
The 29-year-old has proven that he can lead the line in the Premier League with his time at the Baggies and the Magpies and netted 11 times for the latter of the clubs in the recent campaign.
Rondon would offer Nuno Espirito Santo’s side with a different option moving forward and would also give the Portuguese manager the chance to play around with his system and consider different options when heading into matches.
For example, the Venezuelan is more than capable of leading the line by himself or working in tandem with the likes of Jimenez, whilst it could also allow Diogo Jota to play a deeper role or out on the left flank and provide a sense of additional creativity from the midfield.
A player of his pedigree, experience and quality being available for a transfer fee of just £16.5m is rare in today’s current financial climate and one that Wolves should be looking to exploit this summer.
Fosun, if you can get a deal done, you will be significantly improving Wolves with a rather shrewd transfer.
