Speaking in the build-up to Wednesday’s clash with West Ham, the Wolves boss reveals he plans to be active during the winter transfer period.
Per Express and Star, he responded to a question about strengthening next month: “Yes, for sure.
“(I want) players. Today is December 3, we still have a long way to go – one month.
“We try (to look at character and spirit), of course we try. When you have a fantastic group of players who really admire themselves, respect themselves and work like a unit, we want to bring someone to increase that and to help, and we try.”
The club have done some excellent business in recent transfer windows, landing the electric Raul Jimenez in a permanent deal worth £34.2m this summer, while the £5m signing of Joao Moutinho in 2018 looks like an absolute bargain.
Willy Boly is making positive progress on his return from injury, but given star defender’s issue and the fact that Nuno prefers to go with three at the back, a centre-back may well be on the shopping list.
Lots of fans have been reacting to Nuno’s transfer revelation, with some identifying where they want strengthened while others just celebrate the good news…
Need to strengthen the defence for sure. How Nuno fixes that puzzle will be beyond me. Would like to see a RB, RW and a CB. No need for an AMF, Romain and Gibbs can fill that role. We have 7 MF’s including Coady.
