Manchester United fans here in the Tavern are still yet to get over the signing of Alexis Sanchez, but there’s one man who they’d do anything to see back at Old Trafford.
Old Trafford has laid eyes on some of the world’s footballing greats in years gone by, as the Theatre of Dreams has produced and continues to develop future world stars. One of the key names over the past 15 years for Manchester United has been a player in the hearts of many, as Cristiano Ronaldo earned the status of a club legend from his six years in Manchester. However, according to reports in the Independent, Manchester United won’t be expecting a return for the 32-year-old as Ed Woodward and Jose Mourinho aren’t interested in the signing.
For pretty much the first time in Cristiano Ronaldo’s career his future at current club Real Madrid is uncertain, as the Spanish giants find themselves in a spot of bother with their legacy very much hanging in the balance. And, for the many that will hear about an uncertain future for Ronaldo, the first thing that enters the mind is a return to Old Trafford, but this won’t be the case after Mourinho and Woodward made their feelings felt.
As recent links putting hope and promise on the faces of Manchester United fans has now been firmly put to bed, as their new number 7 Alexis Sanchez looks to be the chosen one to bring the club forward.
Cristiano Ronaldo belongs at Old Trafford after arguably enjoying some of his most prolific days in Manchester, but the recent news coming from Woodward and Mourinho will put an end to any speculation. As a player that’s now 32-years-old, an ageing Cristiano Ronaldo may not be the best option considering the salary and possible price that may come with it.
Although, as one of the best players in world football, Ronaldo may just have been the missing piece in reigniting the Red Devils with a Premier League title.
