Manchester United fans here in the Tavern will be hoping that their side can secure the Premier League title next season, with the summer transfer window being of huge importance.
The Red Devils didn’t manage to secure any silverware this season as they failed to make the most of a promising position in the FA Cup. So, there’re plenty of improvements to be had over the course of the summer, with many of our local Mancunians expecting a number of additions.
Although, the club’s chief executive Ed Woodward may have to step in and control the flow of transfers this summer, as United have failed to strengthen in all areas in previous transfer windows.
Therefore, with Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian being linked with moves away and Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia both ageing, it’s about time United decided to bring in a full-back.
With that being said, Woodward has been left with no choice than to try and lure this star to Old Trafford…
The Albanian can operate on either side of a defensive unit but he is most comfortable at right-back. Indeed, he may find it hard to dislodge Antonio Valencia but Jose Mourinho could definitely be tempted into using him on the left-hand side of defence.
Elseid Hysaj, who is currently valued at £18 million (by Transfermarkt), was one of the standout performers in the Serie A this season as he helped his current side Napoli push for the title and played a hand in the Champions League for the Italian club.
And, the versatile defender would fit into United’s style of play perfectly, as he loves to get forward and take his man on, while launching a number of dangerous crosses into the box.
