World-class boss confident of taking Man United job

The Independent states that Jose Mourinho is growing increasingly confident that he will take charge of Manchester United for the next season, having been out of a job since being sacked from Chelsea in December.

United are under intense pressure to appoint a world-class boss to succeed the underperforming Louis Van Gaal following the sensational news that Pep Guardiola will be arriving in the Premier League this summer.

The Red Devils have held recent discussions with Mourinho’s entourage and are confident that the Old Trafford side are ready to offer Mourinho a way back into English football, where his reputation took a huge dent following a abysmal first-half of the season with Chelsea.
