World-class boss interested in succeeding Wenger at Arsenal

Pep GuardiolaArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have notched their weekend celebrations up a gear, after sensational reports from an insider hinted at a sensational new addition.

Sky Sports quotes respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague as stating that Pep Guardiola is keen on preceding Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

The highly-rated Catalan boss is on his way to the Premier League at the end of the season after confirming his exit from Bayern Munich, with Arsenal in the hunt alongside Manchester City and Chelsea.

Whilst the Gunners are ranked as outsiders, Balague was quoted as stating that Guardiola is genuinely considering the approach of the North London side.

‘I agree that Pep would be perfect for Arsenal but, despite the interest of Pep in the London team, I feel he might be going somewhere else,’

‘As it stands, he has not signed anything and both City and Chelsea think they have a good chance to get him.’

Our landlord, and the majority of the punters in the bar, rank Manchester City as favourites for Guardiola’s signature but a few of the lads have a few quid on Guardiola succeeding Wenger- believing the former Barcelona boss appreciates the Gunners style of football.
