Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited about their new venture under Antonio Conte from this summer and one major talking point has been the transfers he could make.
However, there’s bad news on one particular front as The Daily Express quotes Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci as rubbishing links speculating that he will move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
28-year-old Bonucci has been touted as the replacement for Blues captain John Terry, who will leave upon the expiration of his contract this summer, but Italian international Bonucci has denied that he’ll be coming into the Premier League.
“I’m fine in Turin, my family is happy here. I’m proud to be part of the history of Juve and I see no reason to leave. The marriage to the Bianconeri was done last year.”
“With my agent we organise things like this: we evaluate any offers at the end of the season. But again, I’m fine at Juventus. This is my home.”
Our landlord feels it was pretty obvious Bonucci wouldn’t be coming to England, as Chelsea won’t be offering Champions League football next term.
Who should Chelsea line-up as an alternative to Bonucci? Let us know in the comments below!
