Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are groaning after seeing a move for a quality target fall apart, putting them back at square one.
German media outlet Bild state Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has made a U-turn on the decision regarding his future and will stay at Borussia Dortmund, handing a significant blow to Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Aubameyang set German football alight last season with a staggering tally of 25 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches, which led Dortmund to place a hefty demand of £65m on the player’s head.
Whilst the news is promising for the German club, they’re still actively eyeing replacements just in case the scenario changes once again as they anticipate someone will match their demands for the Gabonese international, which may lead Aubameyang to change his mind again.
Our landlord doesn’t think the news is too significant for City though as he feels Real Madrid were always favourites for the 27-year-old, who publicly admitted his desire to move to the Spanish capital.
Which target should City go all-out for this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
