World Cup Group A star determined to force Liverpool switch

Dejan LovrenI’m surprised the Southampton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are not crying in the corner of the building.

They have already lost their manager Mauricio Pochettino, their left back Luke Shaw, attacking midfielder Adam Lallana and key striker Rickie Lambert.

And now according to the Daily Star, they could be set to lose their centre back Dejan Lovren to Liverpool.

The Croatian international is a target for the Merseyside club and according to reports they have already have a £20 million bid rejected by the St. Mary’s-based club.

It is now believed that Lovren could go on strike to force a move to Anfield and will not rejoin the squad after his extended holiday.

It is understood that Lovren was told he would be able to leave the club should a bid of £20 million be made to the club.

However Saints now look to have gone back on their promise to the defender, hence his unrest.

Lovren is also upset that Southampton were unable to keep Pochettino as their manager and is now on the lookout for Champions League football – something Liverpool can now offer once more.

Liverpool fans. Are you in danger of doing a Tottenham by selling your best player in Suarez and adding lots of ‘good’ players to your squad? Let us know your thoughts below.
