World Cup winner drops major Liverpool transfer hint

Benedikt HowedesLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been excitedly discussing a potential January arrival at Anfield, after a highly-rated star dropped a hint he could move to Anfield.

Stars from across world football have been linked with a 2016 transfer to Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp’s appointment last week and a vast number of those have been from the Bundesliga, Klopp’s former hunting ground.

Whilst a number of Borussia Dortmund stars have been linked, Schalke captain Benedikt Howedes dropped a major hint towards a move to Liverpool; sparking speculation that he could be one of Klopp’s future recruits.

“A move abroad excites me. England would for sure be an interesting destination. English football is very fortunate to have someone like Klopp in the league, Liverpool is a club with great tradition and values.”

The World Cup winner is highly-rated in Germany, considered a long-term fixture of the back-line of Joachim Lowe’s side- stepping-up superbly after Per Mertesacker retired from international duty after the success in Brazil.

Our Liverpool regulars are desperate for a defensive signing to be made, outlining that Howedes would provide an excellent boost to their squad and a wealth of experience to solidify a shaky defence.

Liverpool fans, does signing Howedes appeal to you? Let us know in the comments below!
