World record bid rejected over summer

It is his last chance for a big moveEye opening rumours in the Transfer Tavern today as Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte claim that PSG made a hugely audacious late 110 million pound deadline day move for arguably the world’s best player, Cristiano Ronaldo as told in the Mirror. It is reported that the bid for the Madrid superstar was swiftly rejected and Madrid are determined to keep their prize asset.

The Portuguese forward’s future has been up in the air all summer with claims he is unhappy at Real Madrid after slipping down the world’s highest paid player list and well documented dislike to Rafael Benitez training drills. This has led to increased speculation of Ronaldo leaving Madrid for a return to Manchester United or a big money move to a club of PSG’s stature.

A travelling PSG fan in the Transfer Tavern was heard telling the regulars that his club still hold Ronaldo at the top of their transfer list and the Ligue 1 club will attempt to acquire his services again next summer. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract up at the end of the season, next summer may be the perfect time to try and lure him to Paris in their hunt for another world class forward.

Any move would likely make him the most expensive player in history, but where should Ronaldo ply his trade if he were to leave Madrid? Let us know below!
