Tottenham Hotspur fans are in a foul mood in the Transfer Tavern today after they dropped points against West Brom last night, which effectively ended their assault for the Premier League title.
Things could get worse this summer, however, as a number of top sides are likely to attempt to move for their star players and there’s been some significant comments from a former player who many regard to be the best footballer in history.
The Evening Standard quotes Argentine legend Diego Maradona as urging former side Napoli to go all-out for Harry Kane, should the Italian outfit lose the services of Gonzalo Higuain in the market this summer.
“In place of Higuain, I would go all out for Kane,”
However, Kane has no desire to leave and is likely to earn himself an improved deal this summer, after firing Tottenham to Champions League football and establishing himself as England’s prime forward ahead of this summer’s European Championships.
Whilst our landlord would love to see more British players ply their trade abroad, he doesn’t feel Napoli would be a decent move for Kane as if he did leave England, he could join a much bigger side.
Will Kane retire at Tottenham? Let us know in the comments below!
