Worrying team news for Man United ahead of massive Man City clash

Man Utd might have to draft in one of the United fans here in the Tavern if anyone else goes down with an injury…

The anticipation here in the Football Transfer Tavern is just starting to build ahead of the Manchester derby, in what is sure to be one of the busiest days of the year.

It could go either way on Saturday, with opinion divided on who is going to come out on top. The smallest of margins could make all the difference…

If this report is anything to go by however, it is looking increasingly likely that it will be the United faithful that are drowning their sorrows come Saturday night.

According to the Independent, Jose Mourinho is suffering somewhat of an injury crisis ahead of the crunch derby – with a number of first teamers and squad players facing late fitness tests ahead of the game.

The publication reports that first teamers Luke Shaw, Marouane Fellaini, Antonio Valencia and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are all doubts for the game, whilst squad players Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero also remain doubts following late returns from international duty. Jesse Lingard is also a doubt through injury.

The good news is that Fellaini looks the most likely to be involved this weekend, but must prove his fitness before kick-off on Saturday.

As if the Man Utd faithful here in the Tavern didn’t have enough to contend against, with Pep Guardiola’s Man City looking enviably good thus far – now an injury crisis has hit the camp.

Both sides from Manchester have looked good so far this season, and both currently sit joint top of the Premier League, with a 100% record each.

At least United can always rely on Zlatan…

Man Utd will no doubt still be able to put out a strong side, but without key players like Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw – our landlord thinks that their defence could prove unstable?
