‘Worse than Bebe’, ‘Has to be sold’ – Man United fans on Twitter demand January sale after Bristol City defeat

The Manchester United fans were far from happy in the Transfer Tavern last night after their side were defeated by Bristol City.

The current holders of the Carabao Cup crashed out of the competition last night after suffering a 2-1 defeat against Lee Johnson’s Bristol City at Ashton gate. Jose Mourinho would have prepared his side for a tough fixture against the high-flying Championship side considering The Robins currently sit in 3rd place in the Championship table. However, complacency crept into United’s performance and they paid the ultimate price for underestimating their opponents.

United were certainly a long way from their best last night, and they only had themselves to blame after squandering plenty of chances to win the game and defending like statues for Korey Smith’s 92nd minute winner.

In the aftermath of proceedings, the Red Devils were in extremely critical mood on Twitter, and they unleashed a tirade of criticism towards plenty of individuals in United red.

One individual who came in for particularly strong criticism was Italian full-back Matteo Darmian, to the extent where plenty of supporters called for him to be sold during the January transfer window.

And with Napoli rumoured to be interested in bringing Darmian to the club, it looks as if the United supporters might just see their January wish come true next month.
