‘Worst Chelsea signing of all time’, ‘Leave my club’ – Chelsea fans demand January sale on Twitter after Norwich draw

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were disappointed by their side’s failure to record victory at Carrow Road on Saturday evening.

Manchester City’s dominance in the Premier League so far this season has all but ended Antonio Conte’s hopes of retaining the title and forced the Italian to focus his efforts on collecting silverware in cup competitions. The opening weekend of 2018 gave Chelsea the opportunity to strengthen their prospects of claiming silverware this season by progressing to the fourth round of the FA Cup, however, The Blues failed to see off the challenge of the diligent Canaries in East Anglia.

As you would expect, Chelsea were dominant in possession and threatened the Norwich goal throughout proceedings, but in truth, they lacked the conviction and fluidity that was required to open up the Norwich defence.

In the aftermath of the fixture, the Chelsea fans discussed the performance of their side both collectively and individually on Twitter.

Alvaro Morata has take his fair share of criticism on social media since the turn of the New Year – especially after his shocking performance at Arsenal last week – but it seems the Chelsea supporters have diverted their criticism towards their back-up striker Michy Batshuayi following his display at Norwich.

The Belgian striker made only his 7th start of the season on Saturday which could explain his lack of sharpness, however, the supporters on Twitter have been in no mood to make excuses for his performance.

Here’s what the Blues faithful on Twitter had to say about Batshuayi’s performance on Saturday and his future at the club…
