The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been looking into the possibility of signing Juan Quintero this summer after a story from La Nueva Deporte has claimed that the Lilywhites are interested in the midfielder.

The attacking midfielder has been one of the standout players at the World Cup so far this summer and will be included in lots of fans ‘team of the group stage’ elevens on Twitter in the coming days. However, the midfielder has only shown what he can in three games and it will be interesting to see how he fares against England when the South American’s face the Three Lions on Tuesday evening.
If Spurs do act on the rumours and follow through with some intent to sign the 25-year-old, it could be a complicated one. The Colombian is contracted to Porto but spent the second half of last season on-loan at River Plate in Argentina and will not return to Portugal until December 31st this year. The Argentine outfit has an option to buy of around £3 million though and could look to make a quick profit by signing him before selling him to the Lilywhites for a much larger fee in the same window.

He doesn't belong to river plate. He is just there on loan until january. Would be a tricky one to pull off

Looking forward to Levy placing a 19.2m bid then

Quality player, but had trouble settling in Europe.

Like to see this happen looked fairly decent at World Cup

As you can see, the Spurs fans in the Tavern are cautious over this deal but will be hoping that it can come through as Quintero has impressed everyone so far in the World Cup.
