‘Would be good’, ‘I’m fine with him leaving’- Liverpool fans are ready for 26-cap international to depart in January

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been growing increasingly concerned at the poor form of Daniel Sturridge this season. The Englishman has really struggled to make a name for himself under Jurgen Klopp, and his form this term has been particularly poor.

Roberto Firmino has impressed, and so Sturridge has had to settle for scraps, and that clearly hasn’t benefitted him. Frequent injury problems have been an issue, too, with Jurgen Klopp unable to trust a player that could go down with an injury at seemingly any moment.

For many fans, then, a move away has begun to make sense, and so reports from the Telegraph linking the Englishman with a loan switch to Southampton do make sense.

Unsurprisingly, this is a move that Liverpool fans are getting behind, particularly over on the Liverpool Reddit fan page. Taking to the platform to discuss the reports, most fans appear ready for Sturridge to depart, particularly on a loan basis, whilst others have noted that this could help to continue to improve their relationship with Southampton as a club.

Certainly, with a World Cup on the horizon, it’s a move that makes sense for Sturridge, and the Liverpool faithful appear to recognise that.

Take a look at what fans have been saying below…
