The Tottenham Hotspur fans are feeling frustrated by their club’s lack of transfer activity so far during the January transfer window, but they are hoping that this will change in the final week of the month.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have not matched the standard they set for themselves during their previous campaign so far this season. Consequently, Tottenham’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League this season currently hang on a knife edge, as they sit 2 points behind 4th placed Liverpool with just 14 fixtures left to play.
With that being said, it is no wonder the supporters are desperately hoping that Levy will get his cheque book out this month and supply Pochettino with some additional talent to ensure that their primary objective for the season is achieved.
In recent weeks, Tottenham have been linked with a multitude of different players, but none of those links have yet resulted in an official transfer of any description.
And the latest player to be linked with a move to Spurs is Napoli’s central-midfield player Amadou Diawara, who is a €38 million target according to Calcio Napoli. The Guinea-born 20-year-old joined Napoli from Bologna in the summer of 2016 for a fee worth £13.05 million, but he has failed to hold down a starting berth in the starting eleven of the Serie A league-leaders this season.
Although Diawara is fairly unexposed at the highest level of European football, the Spurs fans on Twitter have been impressed by his performances for Napoli so far, and they are hoping that Levy is able to lure him to North-London this month.
Here’s what a handful of the Lilywhites faithful have had to say about Diawara on Twitter…
