‘Would run the PL’, ‘Dream signing’ – Liverpool supporters on Twitter demand January acquisition

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping the Philippe Coutinho transfer saga will be wrapped up in the next few days.

Speculation regarding the future of Coutinho has persisted since the summer transfer window of 2017, and the resident Reds propping up the bar in the tavern are quite simply fed up of hearing about it. But now that the January transfer window has opened once again, it is looking extremely likely that the saga will finally reach its conclusion this month.

Liverpool should have plenty of money to reinvest in new players in the likely event that Coutinho makes the switch from Merseyside to Catalonia.

Coutinho will certainly command an astronomical fee for his services, and Klopp will need to reinvest the money accumulated from his sale very wisely to ensure that The Reds fill the void left by their Brazilian playmaker.

The Liverpool supporters have already opened discussions on Twitter with regards to who they should sign with the money acquired from Coutinho’s sale, and it seems Lazio’s central midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is one of their primary targets.

The Serbian talent can play in a variety of roles through the centre of the pitch, but he does not represent a like-for-like replacement for Coutinho – a factor which may deter Klopp from placing a bid.

However, the Liverpool supporters on Twitter have been impressed by what they’ve seen of Milinkovic-Savic in Serie A since his move from Genk in August 2015, and they are eager to see the club make a formal approach for his signature this month.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about a potential move for Milinkovic-Savic…
