The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted to see their side return to winning ways against Brighton & Hove Albion yesterday afternoon.
Chelsea managed to close the gap on 2nd place Manchester United to just one point on boxing day after comfortably breezing past Chris Hughton’s Brighton at Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte’s side produced a dominant display to ease to a 2-0 victory courtesy of second-half headers from Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso. In truth, the result was never in doubt from the moment that Morata gave The Blues the lead inside the first minute of the second-half, as The Seagulls desperately struggled to produce a sustained period of pressure throughout the game.
The resident Pensioners propping up the bar in the tavern were delighted to see their side make their possession and domination count, after they failed to break down Everton in similar circumstances last time out.
In the aftermath of proceedings, the Chelsea supporters were keen to discuss individual performances as well as the overall performance of the team.
Although they were eager to heap praise upon plenty of individuals, they still had some negative words to say about Tiemoue Bakayoko despite Chelsea’s victory.
Bakayoko has struggled to win over the supporters since his summer arrival from Monaco, and it appears that the French international still has plenty of work to do at both ends of the pitch if he is to alter the opinions of his harshest critics.
Here’s what the Blues faithful had to say about Bakayoko’s performance on Twitter…
Bakayoko really needs to work on his finishing.

Slow on the ball, slow movements and incredibly wasteful.
