Everton fans here in the Tavern are feeling confident ahead of today’s Premier League fixture, as they managed to secure all three points against Newcastle United last time out.
The Toffees will be desperate to secure another victory later on today against relegation contenders Huddersfield Town, after beating Newcastle United 1-0 in the Premier League last weekend. Although, it looks as if Everton will face an uphill task at the John Smith’s Stadium, as according to BBC Sport’s pre-match team news, Everton will assess Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Leighton Baines and Morgan Schneiderlin, while the game comes too soon for Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Indeed, Everton will assess Leighton Baines, Morgan Schneiderlin and Dominic Calvert-Lewin prior to kick-off, who are all injury doubts for today’s game against the Terriers.
Similarly, today’s match has come too soon for Gylfi Sigurdsson, who is now back in light training following a knee injury.
So, Sam Allardyce will have a slight selection headache due to the number of possible absentees, as the Toffees will find it tough to take any points off Huddersfield Town later on today.
The Toffees will be gutted that they’re likely to be without Baines, Schneiderlin and Calvert-Lewin for today’s game, as all three men would have had a huge part to play if they were fit. However, with Sigurdsson progressing in his recovery from injury, perhaps supporters will get to see him feature in their next Premier League future.
