Yacine Brahimi contract talks stall giving Everton potential boost

Everton are likely to be in the January transfer market for a new attacker and could have been provided with a boost in their chase for one of Africa’s creative talents.

The Toffees already have the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison playing in the advanced roles with Andre Gomes yet to feature with an injury, however, Marco Silva is thought to be keen on adding a few new faces to his side.

And, it appears they could have some excellent news in their pursuit for a new attacker, with reports in Portugal starting to emerge.

A Bola are claiming Yacine Brahimi is thought to have stalled his contract talks at Porto, citing that the Algerian’s dream is to play in England’s top division.

Everton, as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers, have been credited with an interest by talkSPORT, and could both be set to test the Portuguese giants resolve about their attacking star.

The Verdict:

This news would be excellent for Everton if they were to consider going back in for Brahimi at some point in the future.

Having initially been linked with the Algerian in the summer, it is likely Silva could look to return for the player and his chances of landing him would surely have increased, despite the rumoured interest from Wolves.

It remains to be seen if they will look to make a cut-price deal for him in January, as it appears unlikely he will sign a new contract with Porto, or enter what could be an extremely competitive battle for his signature on a free transfer in the summer.
