It has been one hell of a turbulent few week for the Arsenal supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern, with the Gunners fans often kicking up a fuss about the lack of success the north London outfit have had recently.
The Gooners in the Tavern are still incredibly downbeat after they were downed 2-1 by Watford in the FA Cup on Sunday, and the news filtering in from La Repubblica via Metro has caught the attention of several Arsenal fans.
The publication suggests that the Gunners had a £10.25 million offer rejected by Roma for promising striker Umar Sadiq, a player who has scored an impressive 16 goals this season for the club’s youth team.
Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern admits he hasn’t heard much about the 19-year-old forward, but says if he can score 16 goals in 16 games, he must be half decent!
Arsenal have been seriously lacking the goals department this season, with strikers Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck struggling to find the back of the net on a consistent basis, and the Gunners fans are desperate to see a new striker arrive at the Emirates Stadium in the summer, with them all wanting to see Higuain or Cavani!
Arsenal fans….. What do you make of this news? Do you know much about Sadiq? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
