Young starlet keen on summer transfer to Arsenal

Wenger is still the man to take the club forwardArsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up with interest as Metro claim that the club have attracted the attentions of one of the hottest up and coming stars in Europe.

Standard Liege’s Michy Batshuayi has spoken about his future in Belgium and has made it clear that he will be leaving at the end of the season and wants to take his career to the next level.

As our punters note over a beer, the player is only 20-years-old and it seems that Arsenal are the club he has set his heart on joining.

The Gunners have a brilliant track record having developed so many young stars – and as we know, manager Arsene Wenger is no slouch when it comes to helping the stars of tomorrow turn into established professionals.

Batshuayi himself lavished praise on the Gunners and their manager, noting: “Unfortunately I do not think I’ll stay [at Standard past the summer].

“I am interested in the German and English championships. They are physical and technical championships.

“Personally, I like Arsenal. There is a good philosophy at the club where trust is given to young players. This is a very technical team playing good football, and since I was little this was a team who I liked.”

As our punters note, with Olivier Giroud now swapping secret meetings with models to secret meetings with his agent, the Gunners may well need more than one forward this summer.

Will Batshuayi realise his Arsenal dream in the summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
