Welcome back to civilization.
These International breaks eh? *INSERT CONTEMPTUOUS COMMENT* The Premier League is back thank goodness and what we have is a a fixture list full of fascinating games. Here’s our whistle-stop guide to the pick of the pops.
Norwich vs Arsenal will be interesting on the basis that both sides have benefited in an upswing in form largely based around home form. Arsenal after a ragged start appear to have settled themselves thanks in part to the reemergence of Robin Van Persie. Question marks galore hover over the Gunners defensive capabilities. Can the Canaries keep the Arsenal at bay? Unlikely is our view. Prediction 1-3.
Everton vs Wolves is unlikely to produce many magical moments. Both sides are in pretty much stuck in a dour run of form that sees Wolves traveling to Goodison to face an Everton side that has lost five of their last six games. Mick McCarthy’s mob aren’t doing much better, they sit just one point above them in the table. Prediction: 1-1
Manchester City vs Newcastle will quite possibly be the pick of the weekend. Alan Pardew has won no small measure of respect (aside from die hard Newcastle fans of course) with what he’s achieved so far this season. But this is one of Toon’s first real tests. City who have dropped just 2 points this season are doing a good impression of a top flight football team. Prediction 4-1.
Swansea vs Manchester United will be a cracking opportunity for Swansea City to show everyone just why they are bobbing along very nicely thank you very much this season. The Swans are just 3 points off the current Champions and deservedly so. United won’t however be paying them too many courtesies however, they badly need to close the gap between themselves and the noisy neighbours. Prediction 1-2.
