Zlatan: What I really think about Man Utd

This has surprised the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has not enjoyed the best start to life in the Premier League.

A decent opening to the campaign has quickly slowed –  and the Swedish forward has drawn the ire of the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern as of late.

Ineffective and unsuccessful; Ibrahimovic has a lot of work to do to prove his worth at Man Utd – and statements like this are only going to make his task even more difficult.

In an interview with Aftonbladet, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed all on his move to Man Utd move – and one of his remarks may well prove unpopular in Manchester.

Speaking about his move from PSG, the Swede said: “The team I signed for this summer is not as strong as the one I left”.

Ibrahimovic was, however, quick to backtrack on his remarks: “This is what I wanted; coming to one of the world’s biggest clubs, that has had troubles and not won much of late, and try the Premier League. That is the challenge”.

Whilst we’re sure that his opening statement will anger the Man Utd fans – the comment is, seemingly, not meant as a negative remark towards the Manchester giants.

In fact, our landlord thinks that Man Utd should commend Ibrahimovic on his honesty, and his willingness to contribute to a side that has, admittedly, been struggling in recent years.

If Man Utd are to improve this year, Ibrahimovic undoubtedly needs to perform at a higher level – and he must start contributing more goals. A return of 6 goals in 11 Premier League games isn’t a bad record – but it is a far cry from his PSG form.

Nonetheless, the Man Utd fans are backing him to turn good – but they will certainly be a hard bunch to please after these comments. After all, in their eyes – there is no club stronger than Man Utd.
