The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been growing increasingly frustrated at their side’s transfer business over the last few years.

When Roman Abramovich arrived, Chelsea signed some brilliant players, and that turned them into the European powerhouse that they are today. However, in recent years, their successes on the transfer front have been few and far between.

Even stretching back to the signing of Fernando Torres, there have been, seemingly every year, more than a few failed transfers: either for players that simply aren’t good enough or with the club paying far beyond what they should have done.

That’s certainly the case for Danny Drinkwater. Chelsea signed Drinkwater for a whopping £35 million last summer, and it’s fair to say that he has done very little to justify that price-tag.

He’s rarely featured, and when he has played, he hasn’t looked too good.

It wouldn’t be a surprise, then, to see him leave this summer, and according to the Guardian, that could actually happen. He’s apparently as frustrated as the fans are, albeit for a different reason, with a lack of minutes causing him to consider his future.

It remains to be seen whether he will leave, but the Chelsea fans over on Reddit are using the opportunity to highlight their feelings on his transfer to Stamford Bridge.

With a lot of animosity towards the Blues’ board, fans are claiming that his signing was a massive waste – and so they’re hoping that they can hit the reset button this summer by moving on a few of their failed summer signings.
