The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were expecting big things for the second-half of the season after their side’s January transfer window.

After several years of mediocrity, it looked as though things were finally changing at the Emirates. Big money was spent over the summer with the signing of Alexandre Lacazette, whilst the recruitment of both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was expected to really help turn Arsenal’s season around.

Aubameyang was, undoubtedly, the star of the show for the Gunners, and it was easy to see why. He had a remarkable goalscoring record in Germany, and his pace and technique on the ball looked likely to make him a surefire hit in England.

However, it hasn’t worked out that way for him yet, with the Gabonese yet to make his mark in England. Indeed, against Man City on Thursday, he had one of his toughest evenings yet, with a missed penalty summing up what was an otherwise poor night for him in front of goal.

It hasn’t taken long for the Arsenal fans over on Twitter to turn on the forward, with many taking to the site to reveal their frustration at his poor form.

Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
