Many Arsenal fans would be more than happy to see the back of this linked-away star this summer

Arsenal supporters have been drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern this week after twice seeing their side comprehensively beaten by Manchester City, first in the Carabao Cup final and then in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger’s men were humbled 3-0 at Wembley in the first cup final of the season on Sunday thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany, and David Silva, thus making the Frenchman wait at least another year to lift his first League Cup title. And the Gunners were beaten by the same scoreline at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday as well as strikes from Bernardo Silva, Silva, and Leroy Sane sealed all three points for Pep Guardiola’s champions-elect, leaving Wenger’s side ten points adrift of the Premier League’s top four with just ten games to go.

Subsequently, there have been many disgruntled Gunners fans in the Tavern in the last few hours, several of whom really don’t know what direction their club is heading in at present, with Champions League qualification via league position seeming a huge way off.

In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Arsenal fans to get their teeth into, not least recent reports linking defender Hector Bellerin with a move to Serie A champions Juventus.

The 22-year-old came up through the ranks at the North London giants and has since gone on to make 150 appearances for the Gunners, in which time he has netted seven goals and laid on 16 assists.

Yet recent reports suggest that Italian heavyweights Juve are eyeing up a possible summer move for the Spain international, with the player himself reportedly keen on a ‘new challenge’ given the struggles Arsenal are and have been enduring.

And news of a possible move for Bellerin has stimulated quite a response from Gunners fans on Twitter, with many more than happy to see the back of the 22-year-old were he to leave this summer…
