Swansea City fans at the tavern need to put down their pints and take a breath as it has been claimed that the Catalan giants are after their highly rated Dutch keeper Michel Vorm. The goalie has impressed no end since joining the Swans from FC Utrecht and has been on the radar of more than a couple of clubs.
Luckily for the Jacks, the keeper is also under contract until 2016 and would at least command a decent asking price were the high flying side to sell. Barcelona are also thought to be considering Liverpool stopper Pepe Renia who has already expressed his desire to return to Spain and Barcelona in particular if they cannot persuade Valdes to sign a new contract.
As our landlord points out, the club do not wish to spend big money on a new keeper and feel that Reina or Vorm provide a cheaper alternative than a big money deal for either David De Gea or Thibaut Courtois who have also been linked with Tito Vilanova’s side by Sky Sports.
