Burnley have managed to fight off Blackpool and Swansea to secure the season long loan of Chelsea midfielder Jack Cork.
Cork spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley, and was a big hit with the clarets fans and a popular figure in the dressing room.
The 21-year old is likely to fit straight into the starting XI, and he will be hoping he can start where he left off for The Clarets after a fantastic performance and a goal in the final game of the season against Spurs.
A midfield of Ross Wallace, Dean Marney, Jack cork, and Wade Elliott – with Graham Alexander playing just behind – is likely to be one of the best midfields in the league, and it gives Burnley a fantastic set of players to build around, which will only help them in their promotion push. Not to mention players such as Chris Eagles will be ready to come off the bench if needs be.
The signing of Cork comes at the right time after Burnley announced yesterday that Chris McCann will be out for 6 months following knee surgery.
