Our resident Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to see some deals this month and, according to Fichajes, the club are looking at bringing in Javier Hernandez.

The Mexican striker is currently at Bayer Leverkusen but has got spells at Real Madrid and, of course, Manchester United to his name so would likely be able to adapt quickly to life at Stamford Bridge.

He’s what you’d call a real poacher in the box and, according to the report, Chelsea are willing to meet the £34 million asking price the Bundesliga club have for him.

That’s some serious money when you consider he may not play every week with Diego Costa in such fine form but our landlord believes that, if Chelsea want to win the league, these kind of options are needed.

The Blues suffered a setback in their title pursuit earlier this week against Spurs and will be looking to this January window as a source of finding a way to pull away from the chasing pack.

What do you make of this price for Hernandez, Chelsea fans? Let us know below!
