The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t quite work out whether or not they’re happy with their attack.

Indeed, though Antonio Conte boasts the likes of Pedro, Willian, Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi, there isn’t a whole lot of depth there when you consider at least three of them will play at once.

Fernando Llorente joined Spurs instead and Diego Costa seems to be in full-blown strike mode, so the Blues in our bar believe that area of the squad could have done with some additions.

So, odds from Ladbrokes have proven somewhat promising.

According to them, the Premier League champions are second favourites to land Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich, despite the German’s recent links with a move to Arsenal.

Chelsea were also credited with an interest in those reports and Ladbrokes make them just 7/2 to sign the World Cup winner should he opt to leave the Allianz Arena after a trophy-laden spell with Die Rotten.

Juventus are put in pole position, though even the mere idea of signing Muller has excited our resident Blues.

Landlord’s Verdict:

While the German is by no means a Costa replacement, he does offer the target man way of playing, something that’s been intrinsic to the Blues’ success over the years.

Though he’s not in Costa/Drogba mould, his ability to lead the line in a more intelligent manner really could make Chelsea genuine contenders both home and abroad.

Thoughts?
