Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern all agree that they want £45 million-rated Thibaut Courtois, valued by Transfermarkt, to be sold after the player and his father reportedly had a two-hour discussion with representatives of French giants, Paris-Saint Germain.

The Belgian shot-stopper burst onto the scene whilst on loan from Chelsea at Spanish side, Atletico Madrid, where he was part of Diego Simeone’s extremely successful side that won the Europa League in the 2011/12 season; the UEFA Super Cup and the Spanish Cup in 2012/13 and the La Liga title in 2013/14. Courtois also played in the Champions League final in his final, league winning season with Madrid’s second largest club, and is now said to have met with PSG if reports from Belgian outlet RTBF are to be believed.

Since returning to his parent club from his three years away in Spain, the ‘keeper who stands just short of two meters tall has managed to usurp club legend Petr Cech from between the sticks in the Chelsea goal and has consistently been one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers alongside the likes of Manchester United’s David De Gea and Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris.

However Blues fans haven’t been convinced of Courtois’s loyalty to Chelsea and news of his meeting with PSG, who also boast international stars Neymar, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria, Dani Alves and Marco Verratti, won’t go down well with supporters who’ll be keen to ensure that the Belgian’s replacement is more loyal to the Chelsea cause.
