Sky Sports reporting that the Eagles are close to signing Blackpool striker Kevin Phillips.
The 39-year-old veteran forward could again link up with former Blackpool manager Ian Holloway at Selhurst Park who is determined to bring in reinforcements before tonight’s transfer deadline.
Phillips, who has only netted twice during the current campaign, could now make the move to his eighth club of his professional career that started way back in 1994.
Palace are currently in 5th place in the Championship but are only two points off the automatic promotion places and a signing of the calibre of Phillips could be just what they require to help maintain their promotion push.
The Eagles are also reportedly interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and QPR man DJ Campbell who are both being chased by Steve Bruce’s Hull City.
Holloway has already suffered a substantial blow on deadline day after long-term target George Boyd decided to join Nottingham Forest instead of Palace and Ollie will be hoping to be more successful in pursuit of the former Birmingham City player.
