Crystal Palace fans here in the Tavern were disappointed with yesterday’s result, but were over the moon to see one of their most influential defenders back fit and playing again.

Roy Hodgson’s side have been a mixed bag so far this season, with consistency something that the Eagles are struggling to come to terms with, as hopes of survival continue to hang in the balance. Although, it’s been defensive frailties that have led to many mistakes being produced at key moments, something that needs to be ironed out if they’re to avoid the dreaded drop.

And, their hopes of improving the defensive security within the team just received a monumental boost, as former Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho returned to action against Newcastle as a substitute on the brink of half-time. Nevertheless, Sakho reached out to fans on his personal Twitter account to show his delight at returning to action yesterday.

Following the player’s post, fans were quick to welcome the Frenchman back to action, as they looked for him to hit the ground running in upcoming games for the Eagles.

Nevertheless, here’s a look at exactly the sort of reaction being given off on social media…
