The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been dancing on the pool tables lately.
Not only are they still celebrating Wayne Rooney’s emotional winner upon his return to Goodison Park as a blue, the Toffees in the Tavern are delighted about the fact they are reportedly closing in on a move for Swansea City midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson.
However, reports from the Daily Mail have brought our resident Evertonians back down to earth.
They claim Ross Barkley could miss SIX weeks after injuring a hamstring in training at Finch Farm. The England international is understood to have suffered a Grade Three tear there and could scupper his hopes of a move away from Goodison Park.
The 23-year-old has been linked with moves to Tottenham and Chelsea of late as he enters the final year of his contract and Ronald Koeman has previously confirmed that’d he be sold.
Still, he could now be ruled out until the end of the month and, while Everton reportedly say they won’t sell him cheaply, his value will only continue to dimish.
As you can imagine, our resident Evertonians are keen to get him out ASAP.
Tupcial Ross Barkley. Just as it looks as if he’s about to leave Everton for a fresh start, he gets injured and that appears to have scuppered his chances.
This leaves the Toffees in a very difficult position as they desperately need to sell him, though his price is only dipping now.
