Harry Winks is a very popular man amongst the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern…
The young Englishman has looked very good indeed this season, having deputised for his club in place of Mousa Dembele. Despite being just 21-years-old, his performances have been assured and his confidence has grown week after week.
In truth, he looks more than ready for a long-term first-team berth, and he showed even more of that class during his international debut for England on Sunday night.
Coming into the midfield for the first time for the senior side, Winks put in an assured performance throughout the 90 minutes, leaving a few of the fans in the pub speculating as to whether a few more caps could be forthcoming ahead of the World Cup.
It’s certainly bold to suggest that, but judging by his first game, he is more than good enough.
Unsurprisingly, Tottenham fans on social media were very pleased to see the Englishman do what he does best on the big stage, with many of them taking to Twitter to revel in delight.
