The Liverpool fans have been in fine spirits in the Transfer Tavern of late due to their side’s excellent form in recent weeks.

The sale of Philippe Coutinho during the January transfer window was widely slated by Liverpool supporters who were concerned that his departure could derail their bid to qualify for the Champions League this season, but his absence has done nothing to upset their flow so far. In fact, Liverpool seem to have gone from strength to strength since he left for the Catalan giants last month, and that feeling is backed up by statistics which prove The Reds have improved without the Brazilian.

In Coutinho’s absence Liverpool have enjoyed a greater percentage of victories and become more prolific in-front of goal, which begs the question, was he really the clubs most important player?

Although a handful of the supporters maintain that Coutinho was central to Liverpool’s success despite their club’s apparent improvement in recent weeks, there are plenty of Kopites who claim that both Roberto Firmino is more influential than their former employee.

Firmino has been lauded as the most important player on Liverpool’s ranks, as many believe his influence on the team is greater than that of Mo Salah, which may arrive as a surprise to some.

Who exactly the star of the show is at Anfield is down to interpretation and personal opinion, but it appears that plenty of the fans are beginning to believe that Liverpool are better off without Coutinho.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans have had to say about Firmino and Liverpool’s form since the Brazilian magician packed his bags for Barcelona…
