The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been waiting for their side to replace Luis Suarez for years, and it appears as though Jurgen Klopp may have found his player of choice…
According to Marca, Liverpool have made a move for Monaco ace Kylian Mbappe – with the French forward clearly impressing Jurgen Klopp this season. However, Marca are reporting that the French side have turned down the offer – with the club apparently set to demand in excess of €100 million for the player.
It is safe to say that a move of that size will almost certainly price Liverpool out of the race, with the Reds typically reluctant to spend that sort of money in recent years.
That being said, a player like Mbappe would certainly be worth an approach of that size. He has enjoyed a breakout season in Ligue 1 this season, impressing for Monaco in what has been a title-winning campaign for the French outfit. He has bagged 15 goals and 8 assists, earmarking him as one of Europe’s hottest young talents.
For Liverpool, a move for a top young striker is pretty important this summer – not least because they have struggled up front this season. In truth, the Reds haven’t had a top forward leading the line since the departure of Luis Suarez, and so it is important that the club finally replaces him this summer – as they look to progress both continentally and domestically next season.
