Blow for Liverpool as Klopp gives up – Report

Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are hoping to see some more successful business in the summer transfer window, as Jurgen Klopp looks to challenge for silverware next season.

The Reds have been one of the commanding forces in world football so far this season, as European dominance is well within their reach after thumping Porto 5-0 in the first-leg of their Champions League encounter. Although, it looks as if they’re about to lose one of the key components to their success so far this season, as according to reports from Tuttosport, Klopp has given up on renewing Emre Can’s contract.

The German midfielder has not renewed his contract at Anfield that expires at the end of June, as he intends to leave the English club. Although, it appears that the Liverpool chief has attempted to secure a new deal for the 24-year-old since August, but has decided to give up on negotiations having made no progress since then.

Indeed, it appears that the Reds already understand that they’ll lose the midfielder’s services in the summer, as they now look to Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook as a possible replacement to partner the arrival of Naby Keita. But, Can’s focus for now, is only on closing out the rest of the season with Liverpool, as European and domestic success is seen as a source of pride by the star.

Landlord’s Verdict:

It appears that Emre Can will wait until the summer for his inevitable switch to Italian giants Juventus, as the Reds have failed to come to any agreement in talks over a contract renewal. And, many of our local residents have already accepted the fact that the German will depart in the summer, as replacements are already being eyed up in their heads.

A huge blow for the Merseyside club in their attempts to keep him at Anfield, but all they can do now is rely on Klopp finding a world-class successor for the midfielder.
