The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern couldn’t be more excited about a return to the Champions League this evening.
Indeed, our resident Reds have been waiting for what seems like an age to see their side mixing it back with the European elite and their clash with Sevilla tonight is hopefully the start of a prolonged continental adventure.
Coming off the back of a 5-0 thumping at the hands of Manchester City, some early team news has rather surprised a few of the Kopites here in our bar.
Loris Karius will reportedly be handed a starting berth in place of Simon Mignolet between the sticks this evening, after a relatively slow time of things for the German on Merseyside thus far.
He was selected for the win over Arsenal, though has never proved overly convincing since joining last summer, so the fact he’s in line to play in the Champions League tonight has sparked quite the reaction.
With that in mind, here’s a closer look at how fans reacted online.
Karius being given every chance to prove he's No. 1. Can't think of another team that swaps keepers in the Prem & CL. Taxi for Migs! #LFC

Can't help thinking that Klopp feels a personal debt to Karius ie he brought him to #LFC on the premise he'd be no.1. Don't like it!
