Liverpool supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern in the last few days after seeing their team batter West Ham 4-1 at Anfield on Saturday to tighten their grip on a Champions League place in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their clash with David Moyes’ struggling Hammers off the back of brushing aside Porto 5-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie last week, all but booking their place in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite competition. And the Reds look on course for earning a spot in next term’s competition as well as goals from Emre Can, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane sealed a routine success for the Merseyside giants, who did move up to second in the Premier League table before Manchester United beat Chelsea on Sunday to reclaim that position.

Regardless, there have been several thrilled Liverpudlians in the Tavern in recent times, many of whom are hoping their side can continue their remarkable recent run, which has seen them lose just one of their last 19 league games, between now and the end of the season.

In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Reds fans to discuss, not least recent reports suggesting that the club are in talks with forward Firmino over a new deal to remain at Anfield.

The Brazil international made the move to Merseyside back in 2015 and has since gone from strength to strength under Klopp, totalling 45 goals and 34 assists in just 128 appearances for the club, 22 goals and 12 assists of which have come in his sensational campaign this term.

And reports suggest that the Reds are entering talks regarding a new and improved contract for the 26-year-old, with several Liverpool fans on Twitter hoping for even more good news following their side’s excellent win over West Ham…

Liverpool fans… what do you think? Let us know!
