The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are still frustrated about the club’s failed pursuit of Southampton defender, Virgil van Dijk.
Indeed, the Dutchman has been cited as the man who could have sorted out the Reds’ shaky defence at long, long last. So, the fact he remains a Saints player until January at the very least has served as a major source of frustration amongst the punters propping up our bar.
However, rated as he is, a video of the 26-year-old in action as he ramps up his return to action has emerged, one likely to make the Kopites feel a tad better about missing out on him.
The former Celtic man hasn’t played at senior level since injuring his ankle way back in January, though did line up for the club’s U23 side in a 4-0 loss to Aston Villa last night.
As you’ll see in the video below, it’s fair to say VVD could have done much better to prevent Callum O’Hare’s effort to put the away side four up.

Rusty he may be, but both Liverpool and Southampton supporters will expect much more.
