Such is the nature of Manchester United these days, the punters in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing just what exactly the club need to do this summer in order to try and restore former glories at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils splashed big money in the summer of course, though their squad retains a rather unbalanced look in their eyes of many and major squad surgey is still needed, be it in terms of incomings or outgoings. With that in mind, reports emanating out of Italy suggest a United star could be heading out of the club.
According to Calcio Mercato, Juventus may consider a move for Matteo Darmian, who is reportedly yet to convince Jose Mourinho of his standing in the squad at the Theatre of Dreams. That being said, the Serie A champions are understood to consider him a real option should Dani Alves depart for the Chinese Super League.
A Louis van Gaal signing, the Italian has struggled to improve on what was an impressive debut for the club last season and is often played at left-back, despite impressing on the right for both Torino and the national side. Considering all of this, our supporters aren’t surprised to see him handed a €10m valuation in the report, even if it does seem somewhat cheap.
Should United keep him? Let us know below…
