The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are still frustrated about their draw away at Stoke City over the course of the weekend, believing they needed an added touch of class.

Indeed, while it’s been an excellent start to life in the Premier League, some of their major problems were hinted at on Saturday evening, so our resident Red Devils are still slightly annoyed.

However, all that could change if reports from the Daily Star are to be believed.

They claim the club are hopeful of signing Antoine Griezmann in the summer, if not before. The Frenchman was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the course of the summer, though ultimately remained in the Spanish capital, with Atletico under a transfer ban until the New Year.

Still, he’s believed to be a major target at the Theatre of Dreams and those behind the scenes in Manchester are understood to have earmarked the No.7 jersey for him upon his potential arrival.

Perhaps United’s most famous shirt, the punters propping up our bar do believe the 26-year-old is capable of shouldering that burden and could potentially prove the difference for them in the Champions League.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Griezmann, sporting the No.7, partnering the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford up front would be a sight to behold for United fans.

A huge statement of intent, the former Real Sociedad man could make United Champions League contenders.
