As if the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern weren’t happy enough as it is, the good news seemingly keeps coming for them.

Indeed, sitting top of the pile in the Premier League after four strong summer signings, our resident Red Devils are looking as happy as they’ve been since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Well, recent odds from Ladbrokes have had them dancing on the pool tables tonight.

They’ve made United 2/1 FAVOURITES to land Napoli star Marek Hamsik in January, ahead of the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

The Slovakian recently admitted he’d struggle to turn down a move to the Theatre of Dreams after over a decade with Napoli, in which he was won just 2 Coppa Italia medals. Speaking to Kicker (via the Daily Mirror), the 30-year-old hinted the offer of a move to United would be the ‘hardest decision’ of his career.

Though United’s midfield looks rather well-stocked right now, the idea of welcoming Hamisk to the club has gone down very well indeed.

Landlord’s Verdict:

You can never have too many good players. While it’s difficult to see a natural place for Hamsik right now, United shouldn’t pass up the chance to sign him, should he become available.
