Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to a grandstand finish this season and look well placed to cause it too.

Indeed, things are very nicely poised to resume after the international break with United now up to fifth in the Premier League table after their win over Middlesbrough at the weekend.

Surely, then, they’ll be looking to keep the momentum up as they resume action at the start of April whilst the summer will also be key in making sure they have a more successful campaign than this time out.

It looks, though, that their plans for the future of the club have taken a bit of a blow with Vinicius Junior looking likely to join Barcelona instead of them.

The People (via The Daily Star,) claimed that United were interested him only over the weekend just gone but it appears that is as far as things are going to go with AS saying Barcelona are closing in on a deal.

It looks like a missed opportunity for United, then, and they’ll be keen to avoid such circumstances in the future.
