Newcastle fans are loving what they saw from Rafa Benitez in training today

Newcastle United supporters have been pretty frustrated in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side throw away a two-goal lead to only end up drawing 2-2 with Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

Rafa Benitez’s men went into their clash with the Cherries off the back of beating Manchester United in their previous league encounter, thus giving them huge amounts of confidence heading into their trip to the South Coast. And they certainly took that momentum into Saturday’s game as a Dwight Gayle brace gave them a 2-0 lead at half time, only for late strikes from Adam Smith and former Magpie Dan Gosling to preserve a point for Eddie Howe’s side.

Subsequently, there have been many frustrated Newcastle fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are bemoaning their side’s inability to close out matches, what with the Magpies having taken the lead in each of their last four league games, but only going on to win one.

The North East, much like the rest of the United Kingdom, has been hit by snow in the last 24 hours or so, with many of the players donning gloves and woolly hats to keep themselves warm.

Yet it was manager Benitez who provoked much admiration from Magpies supporters on Twitter, with the Spaniard braving the Arctic conditions in the North East wearing a pair of shorts…
