West Bromwich Albion are in serious trouble, with the Baggies a concerning four points from safety with just sixteen Premier League games remaining.

New boss Alan Pardew has failed to deal with the mess of former manager Tony Pulis, who struggled to inspire the Baggies to the success they had enjoyed in previous seasons under the new Middlesbrough man. Big changes are needed this month if the club are to keep their head above water, and fans here in The Transfer Tavern are well-aware of their sides need for reinforcements. A creative midfielder was the top of the agenda as our landlord caught up with fans from the West Midlands over a round of darts, with fans seriously concerned by their side’s lack of goals this season. Just sixteen in the league so far, the club will be relegated if this isn’t addressed this month, and are desperate to see new faces who can turn this stat on its head.

Creativity is required, and our landlord can’t help but suggest a swoop for Norwich City midfielder, James Maddison. The 21-year-old has been sensational this season, scoring six and assisting five from his berth in the middle of the park, and the potential of this promising youngster is absolutely massive. Norwich will be keen to hold onto the player, with fellow midfielder Alex Pritchard having left for Huddersfield, but West Brom have the money to test the Canaries’ resolve. Maddison is one of the hottest prospects in the Football League, and perhaps one of its finest players despite his tender age. If a deal can be struck, West Brom’s goal tally will dramatically increase in the coming months.
